Due to incompatibility issues with older versions of GTK and OS-specific libraries: On certain older versions of Linux, iTest may close (it appears to disappear quietly) or crash.

Workaround:

Option A:  If you use the iTest Web session type, you must switch to the latest version of a modern Linux flavor.

iTest is supported on RHEL 4 with GTK 2.8 or higher. RHEL 4 comes with GTK 2.2.There is a complex process of getting the GTK 2.8 RPMs and their dependent RPMs and getting them installed on RHEL 4. That can take hours/days for non linux savvy person to do. It is easier to go to newer version of RHEL. If you stay with RHEL 4 and GTK 2.2, you may see an occasional itest crash due to GTK bug

Option B: If you do not use the iTest Web session type and want to retain the current operating system, then remove the Mozilla xulrunner plugin and the Web application from the iTest installation, as follows:

1. Close all instances of iTest and delete the following items:
File: <iTest installation folder>/plugins/com.fnfr.applications.web_<version number>.jar

Folder: <iTest installation folder>/plugins/com.fnfr.applications.web.resources_
<version number>

Folder: <iTest installation folder>/plugins/org.mozilla.xulrunner.gtk.linux.x86_<version number>

2. Restart iTest. This prevents the behavior but the iTest Web session type is not available.
