Automate virtual machines using iTest: Create, retrieve, update, delete, start, stop  your VMs as part of testing and automating your virtualized environments
The session window for vSphere sessions in iTest has been designed in partnership with VMWare to closely resemble vSphere. As a result, you can capture vSphere steps using iTest without having to learn a new interface or new command names. You interact with the iTest session almost exactly like you interact with vSphere.

The iTest interface to vSphere enables you to perform and automate a wide range of tasks, including:
* Power on/off, Suspend, Reset, Edit settings, and taking and reverting snapshots
* Starting, stopping, and removing VMs
* Retrieving VM configurations
* Deploy VMs
* Retrieving events and alarms

Because all actions and responses are captured, you can use captured items to create test case steps that interact with the vSphere server.

Any action that you perform in the iTest session is forwarded to the vSphere server. vSphere performs the action and returns its normal response. You can view the response on the iTest window, just like you do in vSphere.
iTest captures all of the actions that you perform in an vSphere session and all of the responses returned by vSphere.
